"It is through textile art that I explore installation, sculpture, performance and stop-motion animation. I build my ideas by using the agglomeration of small details and delicate objects such as beads, stones and filaments. My work has a meditative approach. I use techniques that require special attention and repetitive gestures. Artistic techniques traditionally associated to women such as embroidery, beading and weaving compose my visual poetry.
The materiality of textile fibers are reminiscent of the composition of the human body. In my works, I use the representation of vital organs, body members and whole bodies. I also introduce everyday objects that directly refer to shapes of the human body or reflect different physical sensations. The human body is for me the only place where we can really exist: in a body that is constantly changing, ephemeral and sensitive. I interpret the body as a receptacle that for intangible concepts such as memory, emotional pain and time. Moreover, I am fascinated by the strange human desire to exist beyond ones body. Humans have a deep desire to materialize their existence by marking the world".
