The Making of The X-Files
Back Gallery Project is excited to announce the upcoming exhibition of a major part of Vancouver film history. Opening in May, the gallery will be home to the FBI basement office of Fox Mulder (played by David Duchovny) from the breakthrough hit series, The X-Files. Chris Carter, the creator and writer of the show, will be in attendance for a meet and greet in June.
A major set piece from the history of television, as well as the history of so-called North Hollywood, the office serves as a vibrant reminder of the early years of Vancouver’s now-thriving film scene. Complete with the filing cabinet containing the titular files and other unique set items, this piece of cultural history will be accompanied by script details and drawings of the various scenes that brought life to the sci-fi phenomenon.
Recently revived for two seasons, The X-Files continues to be a fan favorite and a major force in the cultural subconscious around the world. Actors David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson kickstarted their careers playing two FBI agents investigating the paranormal in 1993. This office was a recurring location used throughout the show where major plot points and character developments were revealed. Anyone who has an interest in the series or the vibrant history of Vancouver film should not miss this thrilling opportunity.
