- Ink, acrylic, gouache, marker, colored pencil on paper
- 19x12.5 in.
- 2019
In her works on paper, Katherine embraces her instincts and works quickly with acrylic, gouache, ink, colored pencil, and markers. Each mark is a response to the last mark and thus the piece evolves without a predetermined outcome. She is often thinking about seasonal shifts, weather, and the natural environments from which she collects objects and memories. These pieces are often bright and colorful and are a place for Katherine to be free and expressive with her mark making and color choices.
Katherine Duclos was born in Massachusetts and received her MFA in Painting and Drawing from Pratt Institute in 2012 in Brooklyn, NY. After 10 years in New York, she moved to Vancouver, BC in late 2017 with her family. She has exhibited her work in Canada and the United States. She has worked as a teaching artist for organizations such as Studio in a School in New York City and the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
